![]() I’m not sure if they are, but regardless. One of the things that came to mind as I was processing the negative comments was: "Are these people out in the world creating something and sharing it in real, vulnerable ways?” If you’re not in the arena too then your opinion doesn’t matter to me ![]() You cannot and will not please everyone, but when you’re leading, loving and living your truth then you won’t look back on your life with any regrets! 3. ![]() If you’re a creator of any kind I implore you to take this on board ASAP. The people who resonate with my message and who reach out and thank me for having a positive impact on their lives – those are my people and who I’m here to serve. Remembering this has really helped me move past the criticism. I was not put on this planet to be everyone’s cup of tea and neither were you! I am here to love and support the people who are naturally and authentically drawn to my excited/anxious tone and sailor-ways! I can understand and respect that my pace and tone isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay. I speak very quickly all the time but especially when I’m anxious and/or excited and passionate. I don’t mind my swearing and I’ve been mindful to place a warning at the beginning of each podcast episode because I fully agree that those who are sensitive to it a) should not have to listen to it and b) should not be taken by surprise and risk children being in the room when it happens. Maybe I should reel it in a bit, but that has to happen in my personal life first and it has to come from my heartfelt desire to do so and not based off of a negative comment from some random person on the internet. In the reviews, I was criticized for swearing and speaking too quickly. I think I’d be a lot more disappointed with myself if I didn’t show up as the fullest expression of myself in this and all my other podcast episodes. A one in 4 billion chance that got gifted with life and you are here to be and express the fullest version of yourself always and in all ways. You are here on earth to be the best version of yourself and not to act, speak, look, behave or create in a way that is palatable for everyone else. I am so grateful for all the feedback I’ve gotten on this episode specifically because it’s really solidified this for me. The point is: You truly cannot make everyone happy. People are either telling me it’s exactly what they needed or that they hate everything about it. It’s basically a peppering of 1 and 5 star reviews. I have gotten such a mixed bag of reviews on this particular podcast episode. Here are a few of the things I’ve learned from this situation: 1. This situation has become a very insightful learning experience but also a very “Jesus take the wheel” one too! When you’re creating something and sharing it with the world people’s reactions are entirely out of your control. After I received more reviews that literally altered between one-star and five-star and back again, I really just had to laugh! This podcast was the first to receive a one-star review and to have people literally take time out of their day to critique it. I’m going to be honest, my first reaction was to be a little hurt. ![]() It’s been an interesting rollercoaster ride as I’ve listened to and taken action on some of the feedback and really dug into how this experience has made me feel. I recently had an interesting experience when I uploaded my podcast episode about The Power of Protecting Your Vibration and I received very mixed reviews and some very critical comments. I truly believe in their mission and I am grateful to be apart of a platform that is making meditation easy and accessible to so many people. I was a long time member of the community long before I decided to upload meditations and podcasts there. And, no, it’s not because I teach on there.
